Talked with Johnny, he wants anyone to not forget to bring your bag! We are throwing no matter what! Sunday the 13th, day after the ice bowl!!
Re: HAMMOCK BAY COURSE
Ok, sorry for the delay on the directions to the freeport course. Here they are:
*Coming from Fort Walton through Niceville: Head east on highway 20 towards Freeport, as soon as you get into Freeport turn right onto East Bay Loop Road. Once you've gone over the bridge (over the bayou) start looking for a green sign with the words "Freeport Regional Sports Complex", turn right and the park is about 500 yards down. You cant miss it! We're going to start working at 9:30. Bring your discs because, as Rhonda said, we will definitely be throwing at some point during the day! Can't wait to see yall!
p.s. Joe_Kool: It's an awesome park and course and the city was kind enough to provide all the land and money to build it. I hope you approve...

I'll have to come out there and give it a throw sometime or another. We drive all over when we get a chance, gulf breeze, milton, p-cola. I've even made it to a course up in Montgomery while on a business trip

Re: HAMMOCK BAY COURSE
Whew what a course it is indeed.. Drive time was about 50-60 minutes (same as p'cola or milton) It may not be to everyone's liking the first few rounds but it's there. Remember this is a BRAND NEW COURSE so don't get discouraged . John King and crew did an awesome job out there and it does have some Technical shots .. I love Hole 7 (Birdie 2x ..) The AM box locations will hopefully be layed-out soon , there's a good flowing mixture in hole distances. Although new there were only a handfull of walkers/joggers/bikers which was nice and you can see all the way down the fairways (big plus ).. Great Work Guys!! now if I could just get that mariachi music outa my head...

Re: HAMMOCK BAY COURSE
Can I just say... Johnny King and crew did a FANTASTIC job on this course!
You all know that I play a horrible game , so the holes were a little to long for me ...but great work! The setting is great and the layout was awesome!
So I just wanted to say THANK YOU JOHNNY and everyone involved in making this course happen!! It was great meeting your dad too.

Re: HAMMOCK BAY COURSE
is there a lay-out or course map that's been transitioned to digital format that we can see? that would be sweet so we can get a heads up what we're in for before showing up.
I know that's it's probably too new to be on DGCR.com site but anything would be great for a heads up
thanks

Well... lets see!
There are a great deal of holes where water comes into play, however my brother did not seem to have an issue there like I did, with his spike hyzer shots , he almost aced 5 different baskets that day ( I don't remember which ones). There is definately a "route" to get over the water holes, but not for me... I was scared of them and SHANKED my disc EVERYTIME
The hole set ups are definately technical for a backhand, right handed thrower like myself with no power If you can finger pop... alot of those holes would be cake, as they were for my little pumpkin! Sydney finished the round only 5 over, playing from where all of us played from . Her fingerpops did her well And she wanted to keep on playing
I know this doesn't help you much joe kool, just thought I could give you a little visual
It is certainly worth the trip out there...
AGAIN to JOHNNY KING & CREW woot woot

Re: HAMMOCK BAY COURSE
yeah my forhand isnt' my strong suit but I'm getting a pretty good left to right flight with a few different discs without running into too much psudo-roller issues unless I really try to crank it then the O.A.T. will eat my lunch. I'm going to start working on a few other shots while I'm playing casual rounds out there just to start learning them, hyzer spikes, that over-hand-flippy-around-land-flat-and-slide-a-mile or glide out to some fantastically amazing shot I saw the other day is definately a must try
