END OF THE YEAR TAG ROUND!!!

sorry this is kind of sudden, but the end of the year tag round will be on December 12th, Sunday! after the round there will be a members' party at Scully's!!! please tell everyone with a tag that you know and we will discuss memberships at the tag round!!!

Time? How long does this normally take?

I know about how long it takes to play but the after festivities is more what I was talking about... the time between the finish and sorting out tags and the discussion of the meeting and what not. I'm assuming the Scullys will be around dinner time-ish

it will probably be about 30 minutes from last card in to finished. maybe not that long if Jeff or Myself get back soon, then we can start sorting scores before they're all in and be done quickly. the discussion is mostly to let everyone know who is a member, what memberships entail, and that they are always welcome to sign up. It'll be pretty brief after the round, probably a slight celebration for a full year of tags.

When I got my bag tag, all I gave was my name. Had I not signed up on the web-site I would know about the bag tag round in 3 days. Is there a listing or do you guys normally get more information (i.e., phone #, email address) to keep in touch with them for events like this? I'm assuming here, but seeing as I have tag #90 and there are only 25ish members of this web site here, if all members also have bag tags there's ~65 or more folks that aren't going to have a clue about the round.

Suggestion,
If we could get a topic with the bag tags listed out with the folks contact info beside their current tag # it would undoubtedly lead to us all being able to play folks in the local area on a more regular basis. It could also lead to more folks singing up on the web site, more traffic, more hits, could be more actual membership to the PDGC every year which could lower the cost of membership or raise the amount of things you're able to do as a club.

I want to see something like that in the next year's tag season, I'll get working on it and we'll get things even more organized so people call me to update it. we may need a bigger BoD or promote members to moderators to assisst with all the changes for next year.

yeah if we had email address for everyone and could communicate that way I wouldn't mind trying to keep that updated if you needed someone to assist. Either that or just having everyone that gets a tag from here on out sign up here as well (providing they have the internets) or at a minimum provide a phone number.

Some people who get bag tags dont want to sign up on here. Some are from out of town. Bag tag #'s change many different times during just about everyday. While someone is trying to update a tag #, that very person is more than likely on the course playing another tag round. I think that would be crazy. You also dont have to be a member to have a tag, so some people really dont care about whats going on here.

I also think $20 isn't a bad price for a club membership. The pdgc is giving you a t-shirt, a members tag that includes, 10% off at Ace, Bobs, and our store.(KeyChains) I think thats a pretty good deal these days, some clubs are much more. ~RK

OH I understand and completely agree. I also think that is why the person above was saying that there would likely need to be a few folks to help keep the list accruate. if there are a couple folks that get an email whant a tag changes hands ... we can all keep the # list updated and in the end it would almost end up like a player ranking system depending on how ofter we play (almost like a "ladder" in other sports)

If you think it would be too tough to keep updated I'm ok with that too but I would like to see at a minimum, a list (of those that want their info out there) to be able to play more folks in the local area. Chances are if they get a bag tag ... they're pretty willing to play more frequently.

I'm definitely going to upgrade the member's comunication in the upcoming months, but I think that's really about all I can do. Well, I also feel that can be a plus to being a member is ease of getting your communications out and being able to play easily with the other members.

I'll most likely join Sunday as well. This time of year I gotta do things a little at a time. I need to get the Fade shoulder straps for my tourney bag and the 10% would help with that too


I'm still pretty new to the sport but do like playing and helping where/when I can.
