WORK DAY @ THE POND
I will be going out to see what kind of tools that will be needed for this work day. At the request of J.J., (Parks&Rec), The PDGC will help maintain the new course. He has asked that we schedule a work day asap to really just manicure the fairways. I will post here with what I see we might need.
I have clippers,hand saws,shovel,rake....
Thanks

Re: WORK DAY @ THE POND
You need a Bunker rake or some kind of hardcore heavy rake. Clippers, shovels, and just misc stuff to help random things we find that need to be done.
Main thing I seen was just a lot of chewed up wood on the fairways & around the baskets. That's going to take the most effort to smooth or at least clear em up some. Right now it's an ankle twister for sure!

Just got off the phone with Phil @ ANDERSON POND, will be meeting with him Monday to sign paperwork needed for The PDGC to volunteer they time to help maintain, install tee-pads, benches ect. He is very excited about the help that is being offered by the PDGC and looks forward to working with us!

Talked with Eglin Parks and Rec on Friday. More benches have been installed. Phil and Justin are very happy with the amount of PDGC members approaching them willing to do whatever. We are looking to be installing pads the first week in Jan., which is only 2 weeks away! He is going to schedule the equipment and materials to be on site on a Fri-Sun. I will be talking with him next week to get the exact dates.
He also is going to meet with Justin and see about getting the ball rolling for the PDGC to hold The Ponds first tournament. He thinks with all the time and effort the club is putting in and the responsibility the club has taken on, its only fair for Playground to hold the first tournament on the course!
I am very proud of everyone for taking on this task, and for the way all of you are representing the PDGC while you are out there! Thank-you

I am meeting with Eglin Parks & Rec week after next to discuss when exactly the concrete will be delivered. We will be discussing when to schedule a work day.

WOO HOO! thanks for the update Ronda. I know a lot of folks are eagerly anticipating the tee pads there at Anderson Pond! That and hosting the "Grand Opening" tournament there will be nice.

Re: WORK DAY @ THE POND
lol... Phil is hoping to have concrete for 9 pads by week after next and he may need a couple of hands to finish the staircase if possible!
And yes The PDGC will be hosting the first "grand opening" tournament per Phil & Justin (Eglin Parks & Rec).
