2012 SOUTHERN NATIONALS CUP
The 2012 SN CUP will be hold at Pearl River Landing DGC in Columbia, MS. Hogman has agreed and I will do my best to continue on this great tradition. We have a great facitlity to work with on site, with a huge pavillion / amphitheater, a large wide open field right in front of it perfect for a distance competition, an area with tons of trees suiting the skillz portion, as well as a fun and challenging disc golf course.
By next April, we will have the course improved tremendously from what a lot of you saw last weekend. We have plans to open up certain areas of the "woods" holes as well as generally thinning everything around the fairways. Also, foot traffic and winter will have a lot of the brush beat down, so that the course becomes more clear of debris. I have all of my back 9 signs in now and are waiting for hardware to install them, so the course will have many new signs by tourney time. Benches, trash cans, parking barriers and a bulletin board are the next things on the agenda. We have $1500 dollars to spend on amenities for the course thanks to Tony Weinedel, the Kiwannis Club and the Junior Auxillary, so when it is time for the Cup, we will be ready!!
The course will also be in its Championship form for the 2012 SN CUP, meaning that o.b. ropes will be placed on a few holes (#5, #11 and #17 at least) and #16 will be an "island" hole. It will be ready to challenge the best from each SN city so be prepared and choose your team well!!
More info to come....
Now accepting registrations.

The PDGC is proud to be the host of the First FORT WALTON BEACH team to compete in the SN CUP. In past years there have been 10 to 12 teams from all over the south to compete. They expect the same or more in 2012.
TEAM FWB will consist of:
2 pro,1 Master,1 Advanced,1 Am,and 1 woman
Alternates for all positions are required
Cost for the team event is $300.00
Fundraisers for the event and sponsors will be needed for (hotel, misc.)
Tryouts will be held for the above spots. Format (to be announced)
This event will take place in April/May 2012. It will take about a week of your time.
I am very proud to be apart in sending a team from Fort Walton Beach to compete in the cup. We have some very strong disc golfers in our area and its about time we show it!
More Info. to come,
Ronda

Re: 2012 SOUTHERN NATIONALS CUP
This is from the TD for the cup!
April 14th and 15th
Columbia, MS
Pearl River Landing DGC
18 holes - Par 60
Teams consist of:
Intermediate (Am)
Advanced
Masters (age 40+)
Pro A
Pro B
Lady player (any div.)
*All players have to be approved by submitting an early roster*
Format:
Rd. 1 - Mixed Doubles
Rd. 2 - Field Events
Rd. 3 - Singles
*Finals for top 3*
$300 per team ( + $50 sponsorship humbly requested of all teams)
Scoring Format: (based on 12 teams)
Rd. 1 - Mixed Doubles
*Each cities' 6 team members will be split into 3 teams of 2 players. Each team (Team A, Team B, etc..) will compete against only the other cities' teams in its "division" in an alternate shot format.*
Team A will consist of the Pro A and Lady player.
Team B " " Pro B and Intermediate Player.
Team C " " Masters and Advanced Player.
Each City will be awarded 3 points for each team that your city's teams (A, B & C) beat.
Round 1 will be worth a total of 99 possible points.
Rd. 2 - Field Events
*All field events (putting, accuracy & distance) will be based on a total team score, meaning each player will earn his own points during the accuracy and putting portions, but will all be totalled into a team score in the end for each event.*
*Distance will be judged by one total "Team distance" meaning each players one best throw will be totalled together.*
Each City will be awarded 4 points for each team that they beat in the putting portion, 4 points for each team that they beat in the accuracy portion, as well as 4 points for each team that they beat in the distance portion.
Round 2 will be worth a total of 132 possible points.
Rd. 3 - Singles
*All team members play only within their respective division, from their respective tee pads.*
*Scoring will be based off a "total team score" meaning all individual scores from each team member will be combined.*
Each City will be awarded 10 points for each team that they beat.
Round 3 is worth a total of 110 points.
FINALS & SCORING: (top 3 teams only)
The Finals will be 6 holes and team alternate tee format, meaning that you will play alternate shot as a team with everyone on the team having to throw once before anyone can throw a second shot. In addition to this it is alternate tee, so everyone on the team will have to tee off on one hole (6 hole final), bringing strategy into who tees off on what hole. The real kicker is that the finals ends on our "island" hole from the pro tee which is very demanding, so you'll want to keep an ace up the sleeve.
The Finals will be worth a total of 100 possible points.
Scoring will be broken into (2) parts:
*10 points will be awarded for an outright win on any hole (a.k.a. skins).
*20 points for each team that your overall score for the finals beats.
more to come.......

Re: 2012 SOUTHERN NATIONALS CUP
If it was my call. From this tourney on out. Start tracking members an there progress in the tourneys and events. Hell u could even keep record of the members on a page on our webiste (( why ain't that already something? ))
It would not only keep track but add some pressure which in turn would show who can perform under it![Smile](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
That's my 2 cents
